Review

Each interior light contains a 3-position switch (always on, always off and automatic mode). In the always-on mode, the courtesy light is powered by the battery via the CJB. In the automatic mode, the interior courtesy light is controlled by the theft deterrent module. The theft deterrent module monitors the doors, including the tailgate, using a system of microswitches. When any door is opened, a ground loop is created in the corresponding switch. When the ground loop is detected, the theft deterrent module turns on the interior courtesy light. If the door is then closed, the theft deterrent module turns off the interior courtesy light after approximately 15 seconds.

The anti-theft system module also turns on the interior lighting when it receives a valid unlock signal from the radio remote control.

Model SVX (60th Anniversary)

1-(Left) reading light
2-Local lighting switch
3-(Right) reading light

The SVX model has all the interior lighting features of the standard models, plus two reading lights. The reading lights are located on the front surface of the storage compartment with the control switch located between them. The lights use a W3W bulb. To replace the bulb, use a suitable lever to gently pry the light off the storage compartment and remove it and remove the bulb socket from the rear of the light.

The reading lights are connected directly to the vehicle battery via fuses in the CJB and the battery junction box (BJB). Therefore, the reading lights can operate regardless of the ignition switch position. Each light receives battery voltage and the light illuminates when the switch is activated, which completes the ground circuit.
