Removal


1. Remove the spare tire from the tailgate.

2. Remove the cover from the nut, unscrew the nut and release the wiper arm.

2. Remove the cover from the nut, unscrew the nut and release the wiper arm.


3. Loosen the nut securing the windshield wiper motor to the luggage compartment door and remove the washer.

4. Open the trunk door.

5. Remove the tailgate trim panel.

6. Remove the bolt securing the door locking electromagnet to the luggage compartment door.

7. Rotate both assemblies and remove the wiper motor from the tailgate.

8. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the windshield wiper motor.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed for access only.

10. Remove the two bolts securing the windshield wiper motor to the support bracket and remove the bracket.

Installation


1. Install the support bracket on the electric motor and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

2. Install the motor shaft to the tailgate, connect the electrical connectors and fully insert the motor into place. Align the motor support bracket with the solenoid support bracket, screw in the bolt and tighten it to 10 Nm.

3. Install the tailgate trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Tailgate trim panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

4. Install the washer and screw the nut onto the rear window wiper, tighten the nut to 3 Nm.

5. Install the wiper arm onto the shaft, move the wiper blade towards the glass and tighten the nut to 17 Nm.

6. Install the nut cover.

7. Install the spare wheel and tighten the nuts to 45 Nm.
