NOTE: Do not remove the battery until you are ready to install a new one. Always install a Land Rover STC4080 or Panasonic CR2032 replacement battery.
1. Unlock the vehicle and disarm the anti-theft alarm system.
2. Turn the ignition switch to position 'II' and then to position '0' and remove the key.
CAUTION: Do not allow moisture to get inside the remote control.
3. Carefully open the remote control, starting from the key ring side. Be careful not to damage the seal between the two housing sections.
4. Remove the battery from the clamp, being careful not to damage the circuit board or the clamp contact surfaces.
5. Press and hold one of the buttons for at least 5 seconds to discharge all residual energy from the remote control.
6. Install the new battery with the correct polarity (+ facing up). Touching with your fingers will adversely affect the battery life. Avoid touching the flat surfaces of the battery and wipe them clean before installing the battery.
7. Assemble the two sections of the remote. While within reach of the vehicle, press the button with the "padlock" symbol at least 4 times to re-synchronize the remote.
