1. Visually inspect the engine radiator and charge air cooler for foreign objects and remove dirt if necessary.

2. Visually inspect the fan impeller for damage.

3. Check the cooling system, charge air cooler and heating system for leaks, as well as the tightness and condition of the hoses and oil lines.

4. Check the tightness of the available hose clamps.

5. Check the coolant level, top up the working fluid if necessary.

Cleaning the charge air cooler


1. Remove the charge air cooler.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Charge Air Cooler (303-12 Distribution and filtration of intake air - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, Removal and installation).

2. Flush the charge air cooler using Unicorn Chemicals 'C' Solve according to the manufacturer's instructions.

3. Dry the charge air cooler thoroughly, making sure that no traces of solvent remain inside.

4. Install the charge air cooler.

Topping up the working fluid of the cooling system


1. When the engine is cold, remove the filler cap of the expansion tank.

2. Fill the coolant mixture to the recommended level mark on the expansion tank.

3. Install the expansion tank filler cap.

Replacing the coolant


1. Replace the engine coolant.
