Charge air cooler (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Disconnect the two clips securing the fan diffuser to the upper radiator cover.



3. Unscrew the 4 bolts of the upper radiator cover, remove the cover.

4. Unscrew the nut and bolt securing the side bracket of the cooler cover to the body.

5. Release the side bracket from the protrusion, move the bracket together with the pump tank by hand and secure it to the side.

6. Remove the side cover from the cooler.

7. Disconnect the two clamps and remove the upper coolant hose.

8. Disconnect the two clamps and remove the lower coolant hose.

9. Remove the charge air cooler.

Installation

10. Check the condition of the cooler support cushions.

11. Check the integrity of the cooler sponge seal.

12. Install the cooler in the reverse order of removal.
