Fuel tank filler pipe — removal and installation (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Drain the fuel from the tank.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Draining the fuel tank (310-00 Fuel Delivery System - General Information, General Procedures).

2. Loosen the clamp securing the ventilation hose to the filler neck of the tank and remove the hose.

3. Loosen the clamp securing the filler hose to the filler neck of the tank and remove the hose.

4. Remove the screw and disconnect the ground wire from the filler neck.

5. Remove the sealing sleeve securing the filler neck to the body.



6. Remove the filler neck from the body.

Installation

1. Install the filler neck on the body.

2. Apply soapy water to the rubber sealing sleeve.

3. Install the rubber sealing sleeve of the filler neck mount onto the body.

4. Connect the ground wire and tighten the screw.

5. Connect the filler hose to the filler neck and tighten the clamp.

6. Connect the ventilation hose to the filler neck and secure it with a clamp.
