The filler neck is located at the rear of the body above the right rear wheel. The neck is closed with a plastic cap, which is locked by an electric lock when the car is locked. The filler neck cap is a standard screw plug, which is attached to the car with a cord.
NOTE: On North American vehicles, the plastic fuel filler cap does not lock.
The filler neck is made of stainless steel. The filler neck is attached with two brackets to the car body and to the bracket of the electric parking brake.
The following connections are located at the rear of the filler neck: the fuel tank breather tube coming from the fuel tank flange, the filler pipe to the fuel tank and the carbon canister breather tube.
The fuel tank breather tube has a quick-release fitting that connects the breather tube to the fuel tank flange.
The filler pipe is located in a short flexible hose attached to the fuel tank with worm clamps. The canister ventilation pipe runs along the filler pipe and is connected to the canister with a quick-release fitting.
The charcoal canister vent line is also routed along the filler neck and provides air ventilation to the charcoal canister. On all vehicles with gasoline engines except North American vehicles, the line is connected to the vent on the charcoal canister via a quick-release fitting and to the mosquito net on the fuel filler neck. On North American vehicles equipped with a DMTL pump, the line is connected to the vent on the pump and to a filter installed on the filler neck.
Attached to the side of the filler neck is another smaller line that is not related to the fuel system. This line is connected to the rear differential and provides ventilation for the differential housing. The line ends near the filler neck of the fuel tank.
