WARNING: When servicing vehicles with xenon headlights, the following precautions must be observed. Failure to follow these precautions may result in exposure to ultraviolet rays, serious electric shock, fire, and risk of explosion.
  • Make sure that the headlights are off during the entire work period.
  • Eyes and hands must be protected.
  • Never turn on or test the lamp if it is disconnected from the holder.


Before disconnecting the battery, carefully read the "Disconnecting the Battery" section and follow all instructions therein.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removal


1. Open the hood.

2. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

3. Right headlight on V8 models: Remove the air cleaner assembly.

ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Air cleaner housing.


4. Remove the mudguard from the headlight housing.

NOTE: Illustration shown is for xenon headlight.


5. Disconnect the lamp connector.

6. Remove the spring clamp securing the lamp to the holder, release and remove the lamp.

Installation


1. Place the lamp in the holder, install and secure the spring clip.

2. Connect the lamp connector.

3. Install the mudguard onto the headlight housing.

4. Right headlight on V8 models: Install the air cleaner assembly into place.

5. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

6. Close the hood.
