Front Door Reinforcement Panel — Removal and Installation (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the door trim panel and plastic covering.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Remove the plastic covering.

3. Remove the four screws securing the window regulator to the support panel.

4. Remove the 5 screws securing the support panel to the door frame.



5. Release the door handle rod from the latch mechanism and from the plastic clip in the support panel.

6. Pull the window lift lever out of the support panel channel and remove the panel with the door handle and its rod.

Installation

1. Insert the window lift lever into the channel of the support panel.

2. Connect the door handle rod to the latch mechanism and secure with a clamp.

3. Install the support panel and secure it with 5 screws.

4. Secure the window regulator to the support panel using four screws.

5. Raise and lower the glass to check freedom of movement.

6. Install the plastic sheet and door trim panel.
