Adjusting the tailgate stop (Defender 2007+)

General procedures


1.
NOTE: Before adjusting the rear door lock striker, make sure the spare tire is installed on the rear door.


Loosen the screws securing the rear door lock mating part.

2. Adjust the rear door lock counter part and tighten the screws.

2. Adjust the rear door lock counter part and tighten the screws.


3. Close the rear door and make sure the rear door lock is properly locked.

4. Make further adjustments if necessary. If full adjustment cannot be achieved, proceed as follows:

5. Remove the rear door lock mating part and the plate with threaded holes.

6. Extend the holes in the body metal that is clamped between the plate with threaded holes and the mating part of the rear door lock.

7. Install the rear door lock counter part and make the necessary adjustments.
