General procedures

Warnings:
  • Batteries normally emit explosive gases that can cause injury, so keep open flames away from the battery. Always protect your face and eyes when charging or working near the battery. Always provide adequate ventilation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
  • Batteries contain sulfuric acid, so avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. When working near a battery, protect your face and eyes from possible acid splashes. If acid comes into contact with your skin or eyes, rinse the affected area immediately with water for at least 15 minutes and seek immediate medical attention. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.

CAUTION: Before connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal, make sure all electrical equipment is turned off. Failure to do so may result in damage to the vehicle's electrical equipment.

1. Connect the ground wire to the battery. Tighten the nut (tightening torque 10 Nm).

2. Install the battery cover. Secure it with the clip.

3. Install the left front seat cushion.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front seat cushion (501-10 Seat, Removal and installation).

4. Enter the audio block code and tune the radio station frequencies.

5. Set the clock to the correct time.
