Removal


1. Remove the front left seat cushion.

2. Release the fastening clamp and remove the protective cover of the battery.

3. Loosen the negative battery cable clamp bolt.

4. Turn on the ignition.

5. Turn off the ignition and remove the key.

NOTE: Step 6 must be completed within 15 seconds to avoid the self-powered siren from activating.


Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

7. Remove the steering wheel.

8. Remove the steering column covers.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Steering Column Covers (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).
  • Remove the rubber mat from the driver's side dashboard.

9. Remove the instrument panel speaker from the driver's side.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Speaker in the control panel (415-03 Speakers, Removal and installation).

Remove the left block screw.

Remove the left block screw.


11.
NOTE: Right side shown, left side similar.




Remove the passive anti-theft system unit.
  • Remove the right block screw.
  • Disconnect both connectors.

Disconnect both connectors.


Installation


1. Install the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
