Belt/chain tensioner bracket for accessories (Defender 2007+)

Removal


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05 Accessory Drive - ID4 2.4L Diesel Engine, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the engine cover. Unscrew 2 bolts.

3. Remove the engine cover. Unscrew 2 bolts.


4. Remove the engine lift bracket. Remove the 3 bolts.

4. Remove the engine lift bracket. Remove the 3 bolts.

NOTE: The upper alternator bolt can only be removed when the alternator is disconnected from the accessory drive component bracket.


Release the generator. Remove 3 bolts.



Release the generator. Remove 3 bolts.


6. Remove the accessory drive element bracket. Unscrew 5 bolts.

6. Remove the accessory drive element bracket. Unscrew 5 bolts.


Installation


1. Install the accessory drive component bracket. Tighten the 5 bolts (tightening torque 48 Nm).

1. Install the accessory drive component bracket. Tighten the 5 bolts (tightening torque 48 Nm).


2.
NOTE: The upper alternator bolt must be installed before installing the alternator to the accessory drive component bracket.


Install the generator. Tighten the 3 bolts (tightening torque 48 Nm).



Install the generator. Tighten the 3 bolts (tightening torque 48 Nm).


3. Install the engine lift bracket. Tighten the 3 bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).

3. Install the engine lift bracket. Tighten the 3 bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).


4. Install the engine cover.

4. Install the engine cover.


5. Install the accessory drive belt.

6. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
