Left timing chain hydraulic tensioner (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification

2. Remove the intake manifold. For more information, refer to Intake Manifold (30.15.02)

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or disassembling parts, ensure that the area around the mating surfaces and connections is free of contamination. To avoid contamination of the system, close all open connections.

Remove the left hydraulic timing chain tensioner.

Installation

1. Install the left hydraulic timing chain tensioner.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the tensioner to 45 Nm.

2. Install the intake manifold. For more information, refer to Intake Manifold (30.15.02)

3. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specifications
