Removing
NOTE: Gland Mounting Tools are available individually or in kit 303-S524
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the storage battery. For more information, refer to Specification
2.
WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the torque converter flexible plate. For more information refer to Floppy Disk (12.53.13)
4. Remove the cover plate.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the oil seal holder and the running surface.
Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear oil seal and discard it.
Installation
1. Install special tool 303-527.
- Make sure the parts are clean and dry.
- Tighten the 2 hex screws.
CAUTION: Make sure the gland is installed in parallel.
Using the special tool, install the crankshaft rear oil seal. Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil.
- Partially install the crankshaft rear oil seal.
- Tighten the bolt to fully install the gland.
3. Install the cover plate. Clear the details.
4. Install the torque converter flexible plate. For more information refer to Floppy Disk (12.53.13)
5. Connect a wire of weight to the storage battery. For more information, refer to Specification
6. Check the engine oil level, add oil if necessary.
