Right timing chain hydraulic tensioner (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification

2. Remove the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or disassembling parts, ensure that the area around the mating surfaces and connections is free of contamination. To avoid contamination of the system, close all open connections.

Remove the right hydraulic timing chain tensioner.

Installation

1. Install the right hydraulic timing chain tensioner.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the tensioner to 45 Nm.

2. Install the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

3. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specifications
