Electric sunroof drive unit (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling


1. Remove the front upper console from the ceiling.

2. Remove the Allen screw and 2 Torx screws securing the sunroof actuator assembly.

3. Disconnect the connector and remove the sunroof electric drive unit.

Assembly


1. Install the electric drive unit, attach the connector block and connect the drive to the drive pinion of the sunroof drive cables.

2. Tighten the Torx screws securing the electric drive unit to 5 Nm and the Allen screw to 10 Nm.

3. Install the front console to the ceiling panel.

4. If a new electric drive unit is being installed, the following initialization procedure must be performed.
  • Press and hold the sunroof lift switch. Continue to hold the switch for approximately 20 seconds until you hear a distinct dull click from the sunroof motor assembly.
  • Release the switch and immediately press it again. The sunroof will lower, slide to the fully open position and return to the closed position, indicating that initialization is complete.
