Dismantling
1. Follow all safety rules when working with passive safety systems.

WARNING: Always remove both battery terminals before operating Passive Safety systems (SRS). First disconnect the "negative" terminal. Never mix up the wires when connecting to the battery pack.
2. Remove the headliner.

3. Separate the drain tubes from the sunroof.
4. Disconnect the rear console cable harness from the hatch.

5. Disconnect the connector from the sunroof electric drive unit.
6. Remove the Allen screw securing the electric drive and hatch.

7. Remove the 2 screws with special washers securing the front edge of the roof hatch.
8. Remove the 10 hatch mounting screws and, with the help of an assistant, remove the hatch assembly.
Assembly
1. Clean the sunroof and mating surfaces.
2. With the help of an assistant, install the sunroof in place and tighten the mounting screws evenly to a torque of 10 N·m.
3. Tighten the Allen screw to 6 N·m.
4. Connect the block to the electric motor.

5. Route and secure the rear console cable harness.
6. Make sure the drain pipes are not clogged.
7. Attach the drain tubes to the sunroof.
8. Install the headliner.

9. Connect the battery terminals, the positive terminal first.
10. If a new hatch is being installed, the following initialization procedure must be performed.
- Press and hold the sunroof lift switch. Continue to hold the switch for approximately 20 seconds until you hear a distinct dull click from the sunroof motor assembly.
- Release the switch and immediately press it again. The sunroof will lower, slide to the fully open position and return to the closed position, indicating that initialization is complete.
