Owners who carry out repairs themselves must have a certain level of knowledge and the necessary qualifications. However, the vehicle systems that affect driving safety must not be affected. Any work related to the steering, braking system, suspension or airbag system must be carried out at a Land Rover service center. Under no circumstances should owners carry out repairs to the above systems themselves or entrust them to persons who do not have the necessary qualifications.

General remarks

The description of adjustment, disassembly and assembly operations and operations performed during major repairs includes references to special tools. The attached drawings contain an image of the tool or device during the operations. The description of the work includes information on the permissible wear of parts, tightening torques of fasteners, and other necessary information, such as the need to perform the operation by two people. Each adjustment or repair work, as well as operations performed during major repairs, has its own code (SRO code).

WARNINGS, CAUTIONS and NOTES are used with the following meanings:

WARNING: Operations must be performed with great care to avoid injury.

CAUTION: Used to draw attention to work that may result in damage to vehicle components.

Position indicators

Position indicators (right or left) in this Manual are given assuming the observer's gaze is directed from the rear of the vehicle to the front. When describing a removed unit, (engine and gearbox) the crankshaft pulley matches the front part.

When describing the work in this Manual, the stage of checking the car after completion of the actual repair and restoration work is omitted. It is recommended to check all the work performed, and if necessary, a road test of the car should be carried out. This applies in particular to work related to the repair of car systems that affect its safety.

Dimensions

The dimensions are specified in accordance with the working and assembly drawings. Where necessary, the maximum permissible dimensions are specified taking into account operational wear.
