Dismantling
1. Raise the front of the car.
WARNING: Do not work under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always install safety props.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Take out 2 directing fingers from a support.
4. Remove the caliper from the brake shoe guide and secure it to the side.
5. Remove 2 brake pads and their retainers from the guide.
6. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening directing brake pads and remove it.
7. Remove the guide pins and their protective covers from the brake shoe guide.
Installation
1. Clean the mating surfaces of the guide pins and the brake shoe guide.
2. Insert the guide pins and their protective covers into the brake shoe guide.
3. Install the brake shoe guide, tighten the bolts and tighten them to 100 Nm.
4. Rotate the brake disc by hand to completely remove rust and other deposits from its edge. Clean the mounting surfaces of the guide from dirt.
5. Use a brake cleaner to remove dust from the brake components.
CAUTION: Do not use compressed air to clean brakes. Do not use mineral based fluids. Their use may cause damage to the rubber elements.
6. Clean the mating surfaces of the brake caliper and hub.
7. Install the brake pad retainers on the rail.
8. Install the brake pads on the guide.
Small asymmetric chamfers are made on the oncoming side of the pads. This is necessary to ensure correct installation of the pads. Block 'A' (see fig.) should be installed on the inside of the caliper. Shoe 'B' should be installed on the outside of the caliper.
9. Install the brake caliper on the guide. Align the edges of the guide pins with the mating surfaces on the caliper.
10. Align the edges of the guide pins with the mating surfaces on the brake caliper. Wrap the bolts and tighten them with a torque of 27 Nm.
11. Replace the wheel (wheels) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 115 Nm.
12. Remove props and lower the car.
