Front left brake hose (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Raise the front of the vehicle.

CAUTION: Do not work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.

2. Remove the wheel(s).

3. Loosen the tightening of the coupling securing the brake pipe to the brake hose and remove the coupling.

CAUTION: Always plug the fittings and holes to protect the system from dirt.

4. Remove the 2 clamps securing the hose to the bumper and shock absorber bracket.

5. Loosen the clamps securing the wheel speed sensor to the brake hose.

5. Loosen the clamps securing the wheel speed sensor to the brake hose.

6. Unscrew the hollow bolt securing the brake hose to the caliper and assemble the sealing washers.

7. Remove the brake hose and plug the brake caliper hole.

Installation

1. Remove the plugs and clean the end of the brake pipe.

2. Place the hose on the fixing brackets and secure it with clamps.

3. Clean the hollow bolt, hose and its mounting surfaces on the caliper.

4. Using new sealing washers, connect the brake hose, tighten the hollow bolt and tighten it to 28 Nm.

5. Connect the brake hose to the pipeline and tighten the coupling to a torque of 17 Nm.

6. Secure the wheel speed sensor cable to the brake hose.

7. Remove air from the brake system.
