Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling
1. Place the vehicle on a lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Using the LRT-99-027 tool, cut the pipe at the location indicated by the recess.

4. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the intermediate muffler suspension to the body.
5. With the help of a partner, remove the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system.
6. Unscrew and dispose of the 2 nuts securing the exhaust shock absorber to the intermediate pipe.
7. Remove the rubber cushion.
Assembly
1. Install the rubber cushion.
2. Install the shock absorber onto the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system and secure it with two new nuts.
3. Wipe the muffler outlet pipe and install the connecting bushings.
4. With the help of a partner, install the intermediate pipe on the supports and screw on the nuts. Tighten the nuts securing the supports. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
5. Center the coupling sleeve, align the intermediate pipe with the receiving pipes and tighten the sleeve clamp nuts. Tightening torque 48 N·m.
6. Center the connecting sleeve, align the intermediate pipe with the muffler outlet pipe and tighten the sleeve clamp nuts. Tightening torque 48 N·m.
7. Check the correct position of the exhaust system.
8. Connect the negative battery terminal.
9. Start the engine. With the engine running, check the exhaust system for leaks. (no exhaust gas breakthrough).
