Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling
1. Place the vehicle on a lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Remove the right and left upstream heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) harness retaining clamps.
4. Remove the right and left lower heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) harness retaining clamps.
5. Place a hydraulic stand under the exhaust system.
6. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the front rubber suspension of the exhaust system to the body.
7. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the intake pipe flanges to the exhaust manifolds. Dispose of the nuts.
8. Using a hydraulic strut, lower the exhaust system.
9. Unscrew the 8 exhaust manifold mounting nuts, remove the manifold, dispose of the nuts and both gaskets.
Assembly
1. Wipe the mating surface of the exhaust manifold and inlet pipes and install new gaskets.
2. Apply copper powder grease to the exhaust manifold mounting studs, install the manifold, screw on 8 new manifold mounting nuts. Tighten them to 23 N·m.

3. Using a hydraulic stand, lift the exhaust system and place the intake pipe flange on the exhaust manifold studs.
4. Screw on 4 new nuts securing the intake pipes to the exhaust manifolds and tighten them to a torque of 45 N·m.
5. Screw on the 4 nuts securing the front rubber suspension to the body and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.
6. Lower the hydraulic strut.
7. Secure the right and left heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) harnesses to the center heat shields and to the flywheel housing.
8. Connect the negative battery terminal.
