Exhaust manifold (V8i) (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the intake pipes (or pipes) from the exhaust manifolds (or collector).

2. Bend back the tabs of the locking plates of the manifold mounting bolts and unscrew the eight bolts.

3. Remove the bolts, plates and manifold.

Installation

4. Clean the mating surfaces of the manifold and cylinder head.

5. Apply non-stick compound to the threads of the mounting bolts.

6. Install the manifold with new gaskets and retaining plates.

7. Tighten the bolts evenly to a torque of 20 Nm and bend the tabs of the locking plates.

8. Connect the exhaust pipe.
