Exhaust manifold (Tdi) (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the intake manifold heat shield.

3. Disconnect the oil dipstick tube from the cylinder head.

4. Disconnect the air hose from the intake manifold.



5. Unscrew the two bolts and two nuts securing the intake manifold, remove the intake manifold.

6. Disconnect the intake manifold air duct from the turbocharger (TCR).

7. Disconnect the charge air cooler hose from the turbocharger.

8. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation hose from the intake manifold.

9. Unscrew the fasteners of the exhaust inlet pipe to the turbocharger.

10. Disconnect the turbocharger oil supply and outlet tubes from the block.

11. Disconnect the boost control tube from the turbocharger.



12. Unscrew the seven bolts securing the exhaust manifold, release the heater pipe, remove the manifold and turbocharger.

13. If necessary, remove the turbocharger from the manifold.

14. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
