Manifolds and exhaust system — catalytic converter (V8i) (Discovery 1)

The neutralizer is installed in the front part of the exhaust system of each half-block.

The catalytic converter reduces the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NOX), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrocarbons (HC) in the exhaust gases. If the engine management system malfunctions, (over-enrichment or over-leanness of the mixture) the service life of the neutralizer is sharply reduced.
