Caution: Work on the exhaust system should only be carried out when the engine and system components are cold.
1. Raise the car on a lift.
2. For models with a neutralizer: disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors.
Note: Two or four sensors may be installed, depending on the engine management system version.
3. Unscrew the nuts securing the muffler to the neutralizer pipes.
4. Unscrew the nuts securing the intake pipes to the exhaust manifolds. Throw away the pads.
5. With the help of an assistant, remove the exhaust manifold and neutralizer assembly (if installed).
6. Loosen the bolts securing the three exhaust system suspension brackets to the chassis. Lower the rear of the system onto the rear axle.
7. Place safety stands under the frame at the front and rear.
8. Lower the vehicle until its weight is supported by the struts.
9. Check the reliability of the installation of the struts and lower the car until the shock absorber rods are almost completely extended.
10. Move the rear of the exhaust system diagonally with the front muffler to the right.
11. Turn the rear part of the exhaust system counterclockwise (view from the rear axle)
12. Remove the system from the vehicle.
13. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
