Intake Manifold Gasket (Mpi) (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Cover the fuel supply line connector with a rag, loosen the fastening nut, and relieve residual fuel pressure. Tighten the nut.



3. Unfasten the clips securing the air filter to the throttle body.

4. Disconnect the stepper motor connector (throttle drive).

5. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.



6. Release the accelerator cable from the bracket.

7. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever cam. Disconnect the coolant hose from the throttle body.



8. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector.



9. Disconnect the brake booster hose from the intake manifold.



10. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the intake manifold.

11. Unscrew the two bolts securing the valve cover to the manifold.



12. Loosen the engine wiring support bracket mounting bolts.



13. Disconnect the three vacuum hoses from the intake manifold.





14. Disconnect the return fuel line from the fuel pressure regulator. Plug the fuel line and regulator.

15. Disconnect the air temperature sensor connector.

16. Disconnect the injector connector.



17. Remove the two nuts and seven bolts securing the intake manifold.

18. Remove the manifold and gaskets.



19. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten the intake manifold mounting bolts in the order shown in the illustration to 25 N·m.





20. Adjust the accelerator cable.
