Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling


1. Place the vehicle on a lift.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Remove the exhaust system.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND DUCT SYSTEM: V-8 Engine, REPAIR WORK, Exhaust system and suspension components.


4. Remove the downstream heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) from the exhaust system and discard the sealing washers.

5. Using the LRT-99-027 tool, cut the pipe at the location indicated by the recess.

Assembly


1. Install new sealing washers on the oxygen sensors (HO2S) and lubricate the threads on the sensors with anti-seize grease. Screw in and tighten the sensors. Tightening torque is 50 N·m.

CAUTION: Be careful not to allow anti-seize grease to come into contact with the active portion of the oxygen sensor (HO2S).


2. Wipe the intake pipe flange and mating surfaces.

3. Install the intake pipe, align the flanges, fit the nuts and do not tighten them yet.



4. Wipe the inlet and intermediate pipes, put on the connecting sleeve.

5. Reinstall the exhaust system.

6. Center the coupling sleeve, align the intermediate pipe with the receiving pipes and tighten the sleeve clamp nuts. Tightening torque 48 N·m.

7. Check the correct position of the exhaust system.

8. Connect the negative battery terminal.
