Front door window glass (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the front door reinforcement panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Reinforcement Panel (501-03 Lockable body parts, Removal and installation).

2. Remove the window regulator.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Window Regulator and Motor (501-11 Glass, frames and mechanisms, Removal and installation).

3. Raise the glass to its upper position and support it with a block of suitable length.

4. Remove the 2 self-tapping screws securing the glass guide on the door latch side and also remove one screw on the door hinge side.



5. Remove the outer seal from the door, being careful not to damage the paint.



6. Remove the support block and lower the glass down the door.



7. Release the guide from the glass on the hinge side of the door, lift the glass above the bottom edge of the door and remove it.

Installation

1. Insert the glass into the guides at the angle shown in the figure.



2. When lifting the glass, place it directly in the guides, lift it to the top position and insert the support bar.

3. Secure the guide on the hinge side with one screw, making sure the seal is in place.

4. Install the seal and secure the opposite guide with two screws. To prevent damage to the glass, make sure the heads of the three screws are under the bottom of the guides.

5. Position the window regulator in the window lifting grooves.

6. Install the window regulator.

7. Install the front door reinforcement panel.
