General procedures
1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Disconnect both wires from the battery, starting with the ground wire.
WARNING: Fuel vapors are highly flammable, and in enclosed spaces they are explosive and toxic. When performing operations related to fuel or draining fuel, be sure to prepare a FOAM EXTINGUISHER WITH GASEOUS OR POWDERED CO₂.
3. Using fuel disposal equipment, drain the fuel from the tank into a sealed container. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for connecting and using the equipment safely.
4. Remove the cap and insert the hose into the filler neck.
5. Connect the drain pump ground wire. Drain the fuel.
6. Connect the battery wires.
7. Install the battery cover.
