Crankshaft axial clearance (Defender 2007+)

1. Using a dial indicator with brackets, measure the axial clearance.

The measurement of the axial clearance of the crankshaft is performed by lifting the crankshaft using a lever.
If the measured value is outside the specified limits, install new thrust half rings to compensate for the backlash and repeat the measurements.
