Crankshaft pulley (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Remove the fan clutch.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Raise the car on a lift.

4. Remove the clutch housing cover.

5. Remove the engine protection.

6. Ask an assistant to hold the flywheel from turning, and unscrew the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt.

7. Remove the pulley.

8. If necessary, clamp the pulley in a vice and disconnect the belt groove from the damper.

Installation

1. Install the belt groove on the damper.

2. Lubricate the sealing surface of the pulley.

3. Install the pulley in place.

4. Tighten the pulley mounting bolt to 280 N·m.

5. Install the removed parts back into place (items 5-1).
