2. Remove the tray.
3. Remove the rear main bearing cap.
4. Remove the cross seals from the lid.
5. Remove the rear oil seal.
6. Clean the seal mating area in the block.
7. Install new seals into the bearing cap.

8. Apply Hylomar SQ32M sealant to the block as shown in the figure.
9. Lubricate the seals and bearing cap liners with engine oil.
10. Install the cover back into place, DO NOT TIGHTEN the mounting bolts yet.
11. Make sure the cover is fully seated in place.
12. Thoroughly clean the special tools LRT-12-010 and LRT-12-091 (mandrels). Lubricate the oil seal guide and the shaft journal under the oil seal with oil.
Caution: Do not hold the sealing lip of the oil seal with your hand - this may damage the oil seal. The outer diameter of the seal must be dry and clean.
13. Install the LRT-12-010 mandrel onto the crankshaft flange.
Note: The outer surface of the mandrel must be thoroughly lubricated with engine oil over the entire surface to prevent bending of the sealing lip of the oil seal, the outer diameter of the oil seal MUST be dry and clean.
14. Using the LRT-12-092 mandrel, press in the oil seal and remove the mandrels.
15. Tighten the main bearing cap bolts to 90 Nm.
16. Install the tray.
17. Install the flywheel (manual transmission) or automatic transmission drive clutch.
