Draining and filling the rear differential housing oil (Range Rover 3)

Drain

1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Place a container to collect the oil.

3. Wipe the surface around the drain and filler plugs of the crankcase.



4. Remove the drain plug, discard the sealing ring and allow the oil to drain.

Filling

1. Clean the drain plug, install a new sealing ring and tighten the plug to 65 N·m.



2. Unscrew the filler/inspection plug and remove the sealing ring.

3. Fill the final drive housing with fresh recommended oil until a thin stream of oil appears from the filler/inspection hole. Allow the oil level to stabilize.

FILLING CAPACITIES, USED OPERATING LIQUIDS, OILS AND SEALANTS, Lubrication system.

4. Install a new sealing ring and tighten the filler/inspection plug to 65 N·m.

5. Lower the car onto the lift.
