Cooling system jacket cover gasket (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling


1. Place the vehicle on a lift.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Disconnect the pipes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Tubes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.


4. Unscrew the 20 bolts securing the cooling system jacket cover and remove the cover.

5. Discard the lid gasket.

Assembly


1. Clean the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder block from gasket residue.

2. Install a new gasket on the cover.

3. Install the cooling system jacket cover onto the cylinder block and tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 10 Nm.

4. Install the pipes connecting the cooling system pump to the distribution pipe.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Tubes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.


5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
