Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Place the vehicle on a lift.

3. Drain the coolant from the engine.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining coolant, flushing the system and filling.


4. Remove the fan protective cover.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Viscous fan clutch.

5. Loosen the screw and disconnect the transmission oil heat exchanger from the radiator.

6. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the upper hose, lower hose and expansion tank hose from the radiator.



7. Remove the screws securing the radiator assembly from the top panel of the radiator frame.

8. Tilt the radiator assembly back, loosen and remove the clips securing the radiator.

9. Carefully remove the radiator.

Assembly


1. Install the radiator on the support, put on and secure the clips.

2. Place the radiator in its standard position and secure it through the top panel of the radiator frame.

3. Install the transmission oil heat exchanger onto the radiator and secure the heat exchanger.

4. Connect the hoses to the radiator and secure them with clamps.

5. Install the fan viscous coupling.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Viscous fan clutch.


6. Connect the negative battery terminal.

7. Fill the cooling system with coolant.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining coolant, flushing the system and filling.
