Before disconnecting the battery, carefully read the "Disconnecting the Battery" section and follow all instructions therein.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removal


1. Place the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

3. Remove all fuel from the tank.

V8 ENGINE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM, ADJUSTMENTS, Removing fuel from the fuel tank.


WARNING: Fuel leakage is inevitable during this operation. Take safety measures to prevent fire or explosion.


4. Remove the driveshaft.

5. Remove the plastic mudguard of the right rear wheel.

EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Rear wheel arch liner.


6. Remove the 8 bolts and 2 nuts securing the right fuel tank cover.

7. Disconnect the filler pipe hose and the fuel vapor canister hose from the mounting bracket on…


7. Disconnect the filler pipe hose and the fuel vapor canister hose from the mounting bracket on the filler pipe.



WARNING: Fuel vapors are highly flammable and in a confined space they are also toxic and explosive. A fire extinguisher must be available in the room where fuel is removed from the fuel tank. (foam, carbon dioxide, gas or powder).


8. Remove the retaining clip from the filler pipe hose and the fuel vapor canister hose.

9. Prepare a suitable container for draining any remaining fuel.

10. Disconnect the filler pipe from the fuel tank filler neck hose.

11. Place the portable bath on the workbench.

12. Drain the fuel from the tray and prepare it for further use.

13. Cut the 3 wire ties securing the air suspension tubes to the filler pipe.

14. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the filler pipe to the vehicle body, disconnect the filler pipe…


14. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the filler pipe to the vehicle body, disconnect the filler pipe hose and remove the filler pipe from the vehicle.



Installation


1. Tighten the 2 nuts securing the filler pipe to the vehicle body, connect the filler pipe hose to the filler pipe outlet and secure it with a clamp.

2. Install 3 wire clamps securing the air suspension tubes to the filler pipe.

3. Connect the filler pipe to the fuel tank filler neck hose.

4. Install the mounting bracket onto the filler pipe hose and the fuel vapor canister hose.

5. Secure the filler pipe hose and the fuel vapor canister hose to the filler pipe with a clamp.

6. Install the right fuel tank cover bolts and nuts and tighten them to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

7. Install the plastic mudguard of the right rear wheel.

8. Install the driveshaft.

9. Fill the fuel tank.

10. Connect the ground cable of the battery.
