NOTE: When installing a new active coupling, fill it with 650 ml of working fluid. During maintenance, it is not possible to completely drain the working fluid from the active coupling. The following procedure MUST be followed for both priming and topping up fluid.
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
WARNING: Park the vehicle on level ground.
2. The working fluid from the active coupling is not completely drained. During the repair procedures, fluid will flow out. Substitute a container to collect the escaping liquid.
3. Make sure the vehicle is level. Remove the filler plug and discard the sealing washer.
CAUTION: The filler plug is only used to fill fluid and is not a fluid level gauge.
4. Prime the active coupling until a thin stream of working fluid flows from the filler hole. Refer to procedure: Specifications (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, Specifications).
5. Screw in the filler plug of the active coupling
6. Turn on the ignition for 5 minutes.
7. Turn off the ignition and remove the remote control key.
8. Fill the active coupling until a thin stream of working fluid flows from the filler hole.
9. Using a syringe, draw out exactly 70 ml of working fluid.
CAUTION: The filler plug is only used to fill fluid and is not a fluid level gauge.
10. Screw in and tighten the filler plug. Tightening torque: 35 Nm
CAUTION: Replace washer.
