Review
The differential works in conjunction with the active clutch, transmitting force to the rear axle. Active clutch 4th generation since the 2009 model year.

Vehicles from the 2009 model year onwards are equipped with a modified 4th generation active clutch. The new active clutch features an improved design compared to the 3rd generation clutch and offers the following benefits:
[Information obtained from the website: www.LRman.ru]
- Reduced base torque at high differential speeds
- Torque activation depending on differential speed
- Precise torque limiter
- Energy stored in the battery
- Reduced maximum current
- Faster response
Differential
The differential unit is a low-overhang, spiral-tooth hypoid bevel design based on a 167mm ring gear with a 2.58:1 gear ratio. The design of the differential gears and the 4 bearings that control the resulting torque of the unit on the rear subframe provide excellent efficiency and smooth operation of the differential unit.
Torque supplied to the differential is controlled by an active clutch, which is mounted in a cavity in the front of the cast aluminum differential housing, which also serves as an oil reservoir for the clutch.
