Active Clutch Control Unit (Freelander 2)

NOTE: When installing a new Active Clutch Module, a new sensor and throttle valve must also be installed.

Removal

1. Raise the car on a lift.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

• Place a container to collect any spilled liquid.
• Remove the gasket and discard it as no longer needed.

CAUTION: Clean the area around the element and remove any foreign material.

3. Using a suitable tool, remove the throttle valve.



4. Using a suitable tool, remove the active clutch sensor.

Installation

1. Install a new gasket.



2. Install the concave washer on the sensor with the convex side facing the sensor.



3. Install the sensor and washer assembly.

The throttle valve and sensor must be installed on the active clutch module before installing the assembly on the active clutch. Failure to do so may result in damage to the vehicle.

Make sure the component is aligned as shown in the image.

4. Install the new throttle valve.



5. Install the active clutch module. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring.

6. Connect the electrical connectors.
