Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
2. Remove the steering column covers.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Steering Column Covers (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).
3. Remove the instrument panel.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Instrument cluster (413-01 Instrument cluster, Removal and installation).
4. Remove the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver from the ignition switch.

5. Remove the two screws.

CAUTION: Before removing, note the position of the electrical connectors, failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle.
Disconnect the 4 ignition switch electrical connectors.

Installation
1. Connect the wire harness leads to the ignition switch as they were connected before removal.

2. Install 2 screws.

3. Install the PATS transceiver.

4. Install the instrument panel.

5. Install the steering column covers.

6. Connect the battery ground wire.
