Removal


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Drain the fluid from the cooling system.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Draining/filling coolant and bleeding air from the cooling system (303-03 Engine Cooling - ID4 2.4L Diesel Engine, General Procedures).

3. Remove the cooling fan.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Cooling Fan (303-03 Engine Cooling - Diesel Engine ID4 2.4L, Removal and Installation).

CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.


Remove the cooling fan shroud.
  • 1. Disconnect the expansion tank hose.
  • 2. Release the expansion tank hose from the cooling fan housing.
  • 3. To remove the cooling system fan shroud, unscrew the 2 screws.

3. To remove the cooling system fan shroud, unscrew the 2 screws.


5.
CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.


Disconnect the upper radiator hose.

Disconnect the upper radiator hose.


6. Disconnect the thermostat from the cooling system fan housing.



7. Remove the cooling fan shroud.

7. Remove the cooling fan shroud.


Installation


1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.

2. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
