Removal


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2.
WARNING: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.


Raise the vehicle and place supports underneath it.

3. Drain the cooling system.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Draining/filling coolant and bleeding air from the cooling system (303-03 Engine Cooling - ID4 2.4L Diesel Engine, General Procedures).

4. Remove the brake system vacuum pump.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Brake Vacuum Pump (206-07 Brake booster, Removal and installation).

5.
CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.


Disconnect the coolant hose from the coolant pump. Release the clamp.

Disconnect the coolant hose from the coolant pump. Release the clamp.

CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.


Disconnect the coolant pump outlet manifold.
  • Remove 3 bolts.
  • Remove the sealing ring and dispose of it.

Remove the sealing ring and dispose of it.


7.
CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.




Remove the coolant pump.
  • Remove 4 bolts.
  • Remove the gasket and dispose of it.

Remove the gasket and dispose of it.


Installation


1.
NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.


NOTE: Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.


NOTE: Install a new gasket.


Install the coolant pump. Tighten (tightening torque 23 Nm).

Install the coolant pump. Tighten (tightening torque 23 Nm).


2.
NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.


NOTE: Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.


NOTE: Install the O-ring.


Secure the coolant pump outlet manifold. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

3.
NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.




Connect the coolant hose to the coolant pump. Tighten the clamp (tightening torque 3 Nm).

4. Install the brake system vacuum pump.
