Vacuum pump (Discovery 1)

Removal

Caution: To facilitate removal and installation of the vacuum pump, set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC.

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum pump hose.



3. Unscrew the six pump mounting bolts.

4. Remove the pump together with the wiring support bracket.

Installation

5. Clean the mating surfaces of the block and pump.

6. Install the pump into the block along with the new gasket and wiring support bracket.

7. Tighten the mounting bolts in several stages to a torque of 25 Nm.

8. Reinstall the removed parts.
