Removal



1. Remove the timing belt and all gears.

2. Remove the fuel injection pump (see "Fuel system").

3. Remove the engine sump.

4. Remove the oil receiver.

5. Unscrew the bolts securing the cover housing to the block.

6. Remove the housing and gasket.

7. Remove any remaining old gasket from the mating surfaces.

Installation



8. Screw the guide pins into the block.

9. Install the new gasket.

10. Align the planes of the oil pump and crankshaft.

11. Install the cover housing onto the block, being careful not to damage the seals.

12. Install the mounting bolts into the holes not occupied by the guide studs.

12. Install the mounting bolts into the holes not occupied by the guide studs.


13. Remove the guide pins and install the mounting bolts in their places.



14. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm.

15. Install the oil receiver.

16. Install the engine oil pan.

17. Install the fuel injection pump.
