Note: Water pump/viscous coupling pulleys must rotate clockwise.
The belt is automatically tensioned by a tensioner. To release the tension, turn the tensioner clockwise. When used on paved roads, the belt is replaced after 160,000 km or 8 years, whichever comes first. If necessary, replace the belt more often, especially if you frequently drive off-road or if the marks on the tensioner lever and its spring housing are aligned.
Replacement
1. Remove the top part of the fan diffuser.
2. Turn the tensioner clockwise by the mounting bolt.
3. Remove the belt from the tensioner.
4. Release the tensioner.
5. Remove the belt.
6. If you plan to reinstall the old belt, mark its direction of rotation with chalk.
7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
