Removal



1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Drain the coolant.

3. Remove the upper radiator hose.

4. Remove the air hose between the charge air cooler and the intake manifold.

5. Remove the fan and viscous coupling (see "Cooling system").

6. Remove the fan diffuser.

7. Remove the accessory drive belt.

8. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

9. Unscrew the 14 bolts securing the front cover. Mark the two bolts that secure the thermostat hose clip.

10. Remove the front belt cover and gasket.

11. Remove the small washers from the center bolt bosses.

Replacing the oil seal



12. Remove the worn oil seal and clean its seat in the front cover.

13. Place the cover on wooden blocks and press in a new seal using the LRT-12-077 mandrel.

Installation



14. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Install only new gaskets. The length of the mounting bolts is shown in the figure. Tightening torque of bolts: 25 Nm.
