Crankshaft bearing bushing (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the gearbox (see chapter "R380 gearbox").

3. Remove the clutch (see chapter "Clutch").

4. Remove the flywheel.

5. Remove the bearing sleeve using one of the following methods:

Method 1

Select or make a steel rod with a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the bushing. Pack the bushing firmly with grease. Insert the rod into the bushing and press out the bushing using hammer blows.

Method 2

Cut the threads in the bushing, tighten the bolt and remove the bushing.

Installation

6. Using a mandrel, press in the new bushing.

7. Reinstall the removed parts.
