Removal

NOTE: The wheel bearing is supplied as a component of the drive axle flange assembly.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Remove the steering knuckle. Refer to procedure: Wheel Knuckle (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation).

• Place the steering knuckle assembly in a vice so that it rests on the special tool. Special Tool(s): 205-802/5
• Using a special tool, press the drive flange of the drive axle assembly out of the steering knuckle. Special tool(s): 204-536/2

Installation

CAUTION: Install a new drive axle flange assembly.

• Install the new drive axle flange assembly into the special tool. Special tool(s): 204-348/3, 204-348-01
• Using the special tool, press the drive flange of the drive axle assembly into the steering knuckle. Special tool(s): 204-528/1
